Serena Williams will face James Blake in the 2007 Anthem Live All-Star Tennis Event on Dec. 6 at Old Dominion University's Constant Center.
Williams will become the third tennis star to join Blake in Norfolk for Anthem Live, which has raised more than $2.2 million for cancer research. Andre Agassi came in 2006, Andy Roddick in '05.
"It continues to amaze me that by partnering with Anthem and having my friends agree to join me, we can truly make a difference by helping fund research to find a cure for cancer,'' Blake said.
As he has in the past two years, Blake will dedicate the event to the memory of his father, Thomas, who died of cancer in 2004.
The 2007 Anthem Live also will feature a mixed doubles exhibition with Blake's good buddy Mardy Fish and French standout Tatiana Golovin, who is ranked 18th in the world in women's tennis.
The event also will feature musicians to be announced. John Mayer and Gavin DeGraw have been among the past performers.
