Why the Serena/Justine match-up won't happen.

Lucie Safarova.

I used to list my favorite tennis players here...
...then they all retired.
I used to keep track of my rankings in fantasy games here...
...then I realized how much I suck.
I used to update this signature, once in a while...
...then I realized no one actually reads it.

She's not playing well since Wimbledon.

6-3 6-4 is hardly a dismissal, and before that it was 3-6 6-3 7-6(5), I'd say that's quite a match.
I'm talking about the Lucie who is 1-0 against Justine with a 7-6(5) 6-4 win
The one that's 2-0 against Mauresmo, both in grand slams without losing a set

No, she hasn't. But, she definitely has the potential to beat Serena, if Serena gets past Vera.

Nice thought, but I don't think it's happening. I'm not sure Lucie will get past Marion.

We all know Serena is weakest in the early rounds. She has to get to Lucie first Okay even I have to laugh at that one... but still, if someone's going to beat her Lucie's got the game.

Lucie would have to beat Marion to meet Serena.

Marion looks to have found her form though after those losses. She looked pretty good in Toronto. Fatigue might be a factor though, as she seems to be exhausted ATM.
