New Haven cursed - second straight final completed on a retirement

Last year was awful though with Lindsay losing 6-0 and retiring.

Personally, I thought last year was worse... it was painful to see Lindsay being injured in what I thought was one of her last matches of her career. The final this year was pretty awful too though.

the tour needs to do something about injuries... its kind of ridiculous... i think all hardcourts that are not before uso should change to like carpet or green clay

Re: New Haven cursed - second straight final completed on a retirement

It's also the second straight time in which a player who had little to no play on US hard courts all year, makes the final at New Haven and loses in a retirement.

That seems to be the biggest issue really.
Both players took too much strain on their bodies too fast and paid for it.

"Everybody always said I didn't get that job because my wife is white. If you're not strong enough to look through that then you have the issue."
-Charlie Strong, assistant head coach of the Florida Gators

Black presidents of the US=1

Something needs to change.

Re: New Haven cursed - second straight final completed on a retirement

I wonder how Sveta is feeling now taking this tittle.... what has she done this week to take it? But to be fair, it has to be said: congratulations
