Match points saved en route to title

In the Sanex WTA Tour website:

Match points saved en route to title
6 - Daniilidou d. Stevenson 4-6, 7-6(9), 6-3 ('s-Hertogenbosch)
Did Stevenson played 's-Hertogenbosch?

They made a mistake yet again.

Daniilidou defeated Henin in that match - yet another match that Henin had trouble closing out.

Hmmm...

Did Venus not save EIGHT match points vs Jennifer Capriati in the Ericsson in Miami in 2001???

She Won in the tiebreaker in the third set.

Yeah, is that 6 supposed to be a record, or just an example??? I think there are a few that were more than 6 match points.

Henin is such a choker. She is really the new Jana. Interesting that she also likes grass.

I also think we should start distinguishing between match points "saved" and match points "choked away." LOL!

IMO, its really hard to save more than a few match points. Anything more than about 3 indicates some choking, but of course this isn't a "rule". Remembering that Venus/Jen match its obvious Jen choked several of those away with stupid play and Venus also saved many with some good shots.

The two times Monica defeated Lindsay were in finals ('96 Sydney and '97 Acura). Both matches Monica had to save match points. I don't think Lindsay had more than 2 in each match though.

Yes eva, like at the Aussie Open final this year. Jen saved the first MP with a backhand, fine. But the others...Hingis stepping into a ball at mid-court, rifling the forehand wide...missing an open court backhand volley...

I think Kim saved some match points in Leipzig 2000 against Anna or Arantxa. But I'm not sure

In Leipzig 2000 Kim only saved 1 or 2 matchpoints against Jelena Dokic.
Against Arantxa and Anna she won quite easily, 7-5 6-1 and 6-3 6-2 or something like that.
