If 2005 is so like 2007, then..

Venus would meet Anna Chakvetadze in the USO Finals...

Venus reached the Stanford F and lost in the USO QF
then, this time
Venus has reached San Diego QF and would therefore lose(?) in the
USO Finals....
and I think that she would have a competitive match in
the SFs, saving mps.. to get to the Finals...

but I think this time..
she will win the whole thing...
mmmm and we will have
Chakvetadze as the 3rd new GS Finalist this season..

there is just no,. HELL NO way that
Venus isnt gonna reach a Summer HC Final this year...

AO 2005 & 2007: Serena Williams
RG 2005 & 2007: Justine Henin
W 2005 & 2007: Venus Williams
USO 2005 & 2007: Nicest WTA girl and former slam finalist reach her 1st slam title

Ana? Lena?

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

Ana? Lena?
Anna is sweet and nice...
remember her hair getting caught
in her racket??

or the risk she had to take
going to Toronto/La (i forgot which)
even though she was very very sick..

just to fulfill her commitments..
that was very brave of her..!!

Re: If 2005 is so like 2007, then..

By rights it should be Kim Clijsters, but we all know it wont be.

Ana Ivanovic should reach the final of the US Open if going by the Roland Garros finalist reaching the final like it has 4/5 times in the last 5 years.

2002: Venus (Roland Garros/US Open finalist)
2003: Kim (Roland Garros/US Open finalist)
2004: Elena D (Roland Garros/US Open finalist)
2005: Mary (Roland Garros/US Open finalist)

So I would love to see Ana go to the final facing Jelena Jankovic - with Jelena just beating Ana.

Yes, it can be true that Ana reaches the final and lose.

The first tournament I attend was Antwerp. Ana reached QF. The tournament BEFORE that was Tokyo, she lost the final.

My 2nd tournament I attended was Rosmalen. Again QF for Ana.
The tournament BEFORE was RG, again she lost the final.

Next tournament I'm gonna visit it Luxembourg. So probably it will be a QF again. The tournament BEFORE, that will be US Open.
So indeed she will lose the final.

1. Ana Ivanovic

2. Maria Kirilenko
3. Anastasija Sevastova

OMG... Ana will win this

Also at USO hardcourt series Kim won in 2005 LA and have at tier-I big upset with some girl from China (she lose 2-0 against Peng in San Diego 05)...

So answer is ANA (not ANNA)

Re: If 2005 is so like 2007, then..

well i feel that 05 was the comeback year.... and who had a comback in 05 who has yet to have one in 07? Martina Hingis.........

So if this is truely to be a year of repeats Hingis should at least make the Final this year... and i kinda feel Venus will end up winning.... in 05 she lost to the hottest play of the summer... There really haven't been any people just on fire... Everyone gets injured and misses a tournament.... or are only signed up for 1 tournament. so 07 final Venus vs. Hingis with Venus winning... 10 years after there first final meeting in-which Hingis won. cosmic balance?

Re: If 2005 is so like 2007, then..

If the nicest girl of the WTA Tour won the 2005 US Open, then the nicest girl left should win it this time too.

But realistically, I'm hoping for a Jelena-Ana final, or Jelena-Anna. They'd be the most interesting matches, I think. Or WS-Jelena.

Dream would be (27) Ai vs. (Q) Zi. But I know that won't happen

Hantuchova/Sugiyama def. (1) Black/Huber 6-7(0) 6-3 7-6(10) saving SEVEN match points, down 2-5 in the third, and down 2-6 in the third set tiebreak in three hours

Ai Sugiyama. Jie Zheng. Zi Yan. Tamira Paszek.
Yaroslava Shvedova. Nuria&MariaJose. Yung-Jan Chan. Elena Vesnina. Flavia Pennetta.
