Exclamation If Marion Loses To Zi, She Will Miss Making Top 10 By Virtue of Tiebreaker Rule

if Marion loses to Zi, both she and Dani will have the same amount of points in their rankings

last year the tiebreaker rule was that the player that played more tournaments will be ranked higher

but this year they changed it to player that played less tournaments will be ranked higher so Dani will be ranked in front of Marion

It should be like the ATP ---> mandatory points as first criteria

Anyway, Marion is so close even if she doesnt make it, a good run at the US Open should lift her into the Top10 for the first time. She can easily make it, if not this week. But hopefully she does.

That's so weird. It should be the way it was last year.

Or make Hantuchova and Bartoli play a five set exhibition match to determine... lmao.

I thought the tiebreaker was whoever had more points from Slams, Tier I's and YEC...that's what was posted in the Marion top 10 thread. But Dani would be #10 in that case too.

Marion has more points to defend in New Haven than Daniela. marion has a QF to defend and Daniela onlys has a 2nd Round to defend.

Tournaments played in the last year...

Marion: 31
JJ: 28

I think Marion made the rule
