GBR's Cavaday through to 2Q at New Haven

It is because Obziler retired when leading 6-3 2-1, but Naomi is in the second round of qualifying! Yay! Success for a GBR girl!

She will either meet Vakulenko or Cravero in the second round.

Julia is *not* in form, she was awful this week against Tatiana, from a British perspective got to hope it's her and she repeats the UE-fest from Toronto.

Are you a raving mental case with awesome groundstrokes? I'll probably like you...

Looks like she will face Vierin, after she beat Cravero 6-3 4-6 6-2

Oh my God, even a retirement loss to Cavady must be a blow for Obziler

Quote:
I think with her serve and her athleticism, her power, her court mobility, I just think when she’s on, she’s the greatest player we’ve ever seen, ever. Now, whether her record is the greatest remains to be seen because she hasn’t retired yet. But I think she is really the greatest player. I have seen Martina and Steffi at their best. There are little chinks in those players’ armor, but it was a different era, where you didn’t need to be the perfect player.

Winning a match in a qualifier is what Brits have to look forward to?
Ok.
