Is it true that Lou's making a comeback at New Haven?

Does anyone know if it's true that Louise Latimer is making a comeback at the Pilot Pen? Apparently the tournament is looking for some headline acts ahead of the US Open, and is worried that current sign-ups may no-show at the last minute.

What happened to Latimer all these years? What were her strengths and weaknesses, and how will she perform on the Tour?

I remember as her form as a bit spotty, occasionally good. She'd step gingerly out onto court, warm up well, and then flake out. Her better shots would soon pale into insignificance.

What are your thoughts?

You have long been my goal, been my chasing, been my soul. I have hung out on the edge. But I just couldn't let go. There's a time to forgive. There's a time to forget. Close your eyes, get ready, set. Walk me down this fall I'm taking but don't let me go yet. Oh let me go, sweetheart, throw me, around you, like you know me. And remember me too. Remember me too from a dream i had of you. Mary Margaret O'Hara | Dream I Had | Apartment Hunting | 2002.

The closest any British girl has gotten to the top 100 this century

Ranked #107 WTA in January 2001. Retired in Wimbledon that year.

Her last win at ITF level was a 75 63 win over Stevenson at $25K Surbiton on grass

2001? I started watching tennis in 1998 but I don't recall seeing her.

She was decent. She could have beaten Anke Huber in Wimbledon but she didn't seem to believe in herself.

What about Shirly-Ann Siddall? She's coming back too?

Shirli-Ann? Is that the one who collapsed with heat exhaustion during wimbledon back in the 1990s?
