Venus & Reebok

Ok, I'm sure this topic has already been discussed in the past, but as you probably remember, back in 2001 Venus signed a $40 million dollar deal with Reebok, which was somewhat "downgraded", I think, one year and half after that, when she didn't show up in some tournaments and suchlike.

I know that, for a certain period, she basically wore their dresses for "free", with no real signed contract.

What's the situation between the company and Venus, now? She keeps wearing Reebok, but mostly the "old" dresses, recycling or adjusting them on her own. I guess she gets some money out of this, but probably nothing really "set" on paper or stuff like that.

Re: Venus & Reebok

I would like to know if she's getting paid too. I'd like to see here wearing and promoting a label that supports her. I remember some time ago reebok said they were getting out of tennis, and a lil while after that we see Mauresmo in fresh reebok gear.

"Hatred is the coward's revenge for being intimidated" - George Bernard Shaw

"And for the best of the teen-agers who followed her, and who occasionally referred to her as over the hill, Graf had a ready answer: against top-ranked Martina Hingis, Graf wound up 7-2. Graf's stirring 4-6, 7-5, 6-2 throttling of Hingis at the French Open final this June was perhaps the most emphatic parting shot the game has ever seen. "

Re: Venus & Reebok

Reebok confirmed at Wimbledon that Venus is indeed getting paid for wearing Reebok.

Re: Venus & Reebok

It wouldn't kill RBK to give Venus a nice deal where she gets to design her own clothes...with the help of Dian Von Furstenburg like in '04 =]

Let them eat cake.

Re: Venus & Reebok

I don't think Venus is focused on clothes anymore. She's focused on her tennis. RBK confirmed she's being paid, that's enough information for me.

Don't worry about Venus. She's getting paid.
