All of them have been ONE COURT WINNERS

If Venus will just be a One-Court wonder, then Serena, Justine, and the others will be a One-Court wonder too.

For the past 2 years, all of them have only WON on ONE COURT. Dah!

In 2005, Serena won the AO. In 2007, Serena won the AO.
In 2005, Venus won Wimbledon. In 2007, Venus won Wimbledon.
In 2005, Justine won the FO. In 2006, the FO, In 2007, the FO.
In 2006, Maria only won the USO.

What are you talking about?

The other top players haven't won ANYTHING, with the exception of Amelie finally winning 2 Grand Slams.

Re: All of them have been ONE COURT WINNERS

ummm...None of them are one court wonders. lol Venus has 2 Us open titles. Serena 2 us open, 2 wimby and 1 french. Justine has 1 AO, and 1 US. Basically the haters are trying to take away from Venus' accomplishments.... Maria doesnt count with these great champions yet... she needs to win more.

It's not about who has won on what court, it's who is really a factor at a majority of the slams and the fact is it's not Venus anymore.
Henin made it to 5 straight slam finals before Wimbledon.
Sharapova has now been in the semis of every slam in the last 14 months.
Serena has won all four slams and should never be counted out if she's at a slam and fit.

Why did you post this in a new thread?

I have a response in the other thread if you would like to read it.

Actually she is always a threat. I think what you should look more into is the fact that Ever since Venus won her first grand slam shes only once lost once getting to the 2nd week to soemone other than Serena 2001 AO open. So does this mean that the rest of the tour should hope she keeps losing before the 2nd week? I think so.....

Re: All of them have been ONE COURT WINNERS

I posted it because I wanted too.

There is a thread asking the question will Venus be a One-Slam Winner for the rest of her career, despite her having won the USO twice.

So, I started one that said they all have been One-Slam winners for the past two years.

No harm done. You guys tend to take me too seriously, when I'm just making a statement in a thread like everyone else who starts threads with their statements.

That was just a thread for haters to minimize her accomplishment.

Actually you just showed the problem with Venus.
She's a totally different player in the second week of a slam.

She never quite seems as focused as she should be and could be in the early rounds of a slam.
As much as she was a dominant force in the later rounds, she barely made it to this point.

Actually and this quote has been around for at least 8 years, Martina Hingis believes it's best to beat Venus in the early rounds of any tournament.
I don't think they rest of the tour hopes she keeps losing before the second week, I feel many players don't fear Venus in the early rounds though.

By the way, Venus has made it to four QFs since 2001 in slams and she's lost all of them to players not named Serena Williams.
Quarterfinals happen to be in the second week of a slam.

Please make sure you look up things before you try to pull them off as a stat.

Re: All of them have been ONE COURT WINNERS

Whats interesting is that Venus has made these quarters (better than many other players have been able to do) with her injuries yet she is not considered a threat on anything but grass. Even though shes probably got the best record of anyone on the hard courts that is an active player....

Re: All of them have been ONE COURT WINNERS

Venus was injured in 2006 and 2004 before the French? Strange because she seemed to be playing great before it.

Re: All of them have been ONE COURT WINNERS

French is her weakest surface..... just getting to the 4th round is great for her IMO.
