Venus' wrists

Watching Venus this tournament, I'm a bit surprised at the amount of wrist she uses on her forehand. This is a player with chronic wrist injuries, and she's cranking topspin into virtually every forehand. I don't know if that's why her wrists get injured so much, or just why she's playing so well, but it's very surprising. She's been playing VERY clean tennis since the 4th round.

Having said all that, I have to give Bartoli a chance, since I have no idea how she beat Henin. Either way, Venus record of being the lowest seeded Wimbledon winner in the Open Era is going to fall.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

Re: Venus' wrists

i just thought that her wrists were prone to weakness, excerbated by technique; that better mechanics may not alleviate her condition.

Then you have Michael Jackson & that name speaks for itself, no hype needed at all.

Re: Venus' wrists

Her backhand is very wristy too. I think Venus actually has one of the most unique backhands (Clijsters looks similar though). Not to say it's the easiest on the wrists but certainly one of a kind in the way she hits it.
