Consistency is the key ...Masha has it in abundance :worship:

Other than at the French this is Sharapova's worst showing at a slam since the 2004 Australian Open. But I didn't start this thread to be miserable about that, simply to say what an achievement it is. Here is evidence of her phenomenal consistency...

W/L 07 06 05 04 03 02 01 00 99 98 97 96 95 94 93
AUSTRALIAN OPEN 18-5 F SF SF 3r 1r - - - - - - - - - -
ROLAND GARROS 16-5 SF 4r QF QF 1r - - - - - - - - - -
WIMBLEDON 20-3 - SF SF W 4r - - - - - - - - - -
US OPEN 15-3 - W SF 3r 2r

I think with her serve and her athleticism, her power, her court mobility, I just think when she’s on, she’s the greatest player we’ve ever seen, ever. Now, whether her record is the greatest remains to be seen because she hasn’t retired yet. But I think she is really the greatest player. I have seen Martina and Steffi at their best. There are little chinks in those players’ armor, but it was a different era, where you didn’t need to be the perfect player.

It's her mental toughness. She wills herself past most players, although she choked against Zvonareva.

Yeah she seems to have found the key to consistent power in her rallies...to me she always looks safer than say a Venus or a Serena....makes less UFE.

For the way she hits the ball, hard and flat, she's very accurate. That's why she's been in the top 5 every week since she was 17 and 6 months.
