Chris Evert still on a roll

Well it seems that Chris and her bad mojo have jinxed Venus once again. She has been shouting from the rooftops that Venus will win Wimbledon since Day One. Hopefully by September she will have found another bandwagon to jump on.

Do us Venus fans a favor next time Chris and pick Serena to win the US Open!

Thanks.

You are right moon, I totally forgot Chrissy had picked Venus to win. Darn it Chrissy.

Moon - Once again you are correct. I think she never liked VENUS because of the tough loses that she put on her daughter, Hingis.

Moon, did you get a look at you-know-who's mug following the loss?

Hey, VENUS is going to have to get to work and stop baby sis.

Tsequoia, Chris only picked Serena to win the French after she beat Jennifer. Before then she was hedging her bets by saying that it could be either Jen, Venus or Serena.

Tee--I did get a look at you-know-who's face, but it still wasn't as good as the Italian Open.

You're right about Venus kicking it up another notch. It's the only way she's gonna win now. I can't wait til the US Open!

Venus is reported to have a sore shoulder, which hampered her serve a bit. And Serena knew it, and exploited it. So much for that "taking it easy on a sister" stuff. Serena wanted to win, and so did Venus. Neither was going to give anything.

I'm thinking of sending emails to Chris when the US Open draw comes out, hyping my fave's opponent. Talk them up and get Chris to pick them.

And for the 8946th time, Chris, it's CHAN-da, not CHAWN-da!

fortunately we are spared her for the USO. Its on CBS and uses Mary Carillo, and if they're smart, Martina also. But they have to get rid of Dick Endberg, he's like 82 yrs old and everytime there is a really interesting point going on he interrupts it to say that "reminds me of the time Joe DeMaggio was up at bat...blah blah." He never shuts up. If you don't put it on mute, you miss the whole tennis match.

Having had Dick Enberg inflicted upon me over a variety of sports for the last 36 years, I'd have to say he's the most overrated announcer out there. And now, he doesn't pay attention half the time. An Enberg special is getting halfway through a sentence, realizing he screwed up, then trying to save it.

For a tennis example: say Sampras just won a rally to get to 40-30. Then he bangs an ace to hold. Enberg would say something like "AND SAMPRAS BREAKS...... out to a 5-4 lead."
