Will you people never learn?

Once again, someone on these boards makes up a lie to rile everyone to hell, and a group of seriously naive people take the bait.

Some junior poster named, ironically enough, "Informative," posted a copy of an artice from the BBC's website which dealt with Amelie Mauresmo's reaction to an all-Williams final at Wimbledon.

However, he/she added some made-up comments about match fixing by the Williams. Maursemo made no such comments; they were purely from the "mind" of the poster.

The link for the real article is:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport/hi/engli...00/2095382.stm

For those of you who are willing to believe anything on these boards, I have some magic beans to sell to you...

well I heard sue barker say it on tv!

In the middle of the night
I go walking in my sleep
Through the desert of the truth
To the river so deep
We all end in the ocean
We all start in the streams
We're all carried along
By the river of dreams
In the middle of the night

Afterwards, she was asked which sister would prevail in Saturday's final to which she would only reply: "You have to ask them for that."

It was I who first posted that article about 'Ms Sore-loser' from the bbc website and all I did was cut&paste -I never added a single line to the article; but it's obvious now that bbc has removed atleast two paragraphs off the end of that article. Why? I don't know. btw, I am not a junior member :

You aren't a junior member eta but you are not an Amelie fan and I wouldn't believe anything you say.

people will never learn, when it comes to a lot of things.

For starters, people on this board are willing to take a comment that was printed out of context, and immediately judge the person who said the comment - often ignoring that in SOME cases, said comment, has been through at least one of two translations.

It never ceases to amaze me.

And Gumbycat, what is your point?
"Afterwards, she was asked which sister would prevail in Saturday's final to which she would only reply: "You have to ask them for that.""

You can interpret this several ways.
I tend to think that I'm not God, thus I'm not in the position to judge someone that I have never had any correspondance with before. THus, I assume she means that she has no idea, and they should ask the people who will be playing the match for an opinion on this one.

However as usual you simply cut and paste some comments and refuse to say anything about them.
