It should be Sharpie's side, no doubt.

Re: what side of the draw plays first?

Well, since Mauresmo is the defending champion and just reached the final of a Tier II on grass, while Sharapova is only a defending semifinalist three years removed from her Wimbledon victory, and most recently lost in the final of a Tier III, I think it's fair to call it Mauresmo's side.

The first reason is what determines the schedule anyway, right?

Actually, I should retract. Momo is the dfefending champ, and doesn't that make her the reason the bottom plays Tuesday?

Re: what side of the draw plays first?

I just said that because is Sharpie's the second seed (so it's "her half").

But yes, Momo is the defending champ and that's why the bottom half gets to play on tuesday.

Re: what side of the draw plays first?

I forgot the defending champion always plays first on Tuesday, right? And the defending men's champion first on Monday? Something like that.

So I should expect to see Serena on Monday I guess.

The Williams Sisters

It's great to be a fan of the two most talented women in tennis.

Only IDIOTS count out the Williams sisters!!!
Serena: 13 Slams, ranked: #1
Venus: 7 Slams, ranked: #2

You'd be hard pressed to find people willing to put money on Momo on a fast court against Sharapova after she annihilated her at the US Open.

Sharapova played 4 matches in 2 days and lost to Jankovic (who's been beating Mauresmo), so it's not like Maria wouldn't have been in the final in Eastbourne...

Sharapova's serve isn't at all the same as it was in August-October of '06. Without that setup shot, Sharapova's got no distinct advantage in a rally.

Um, you do know that Mauresmo beat Sharapova at last year's Wimbledon, right? When Maria's serve was working well for her?

Apart from the fact that her groundstrokes are more accurate, powerfull and penetrating.
