AKGUL AMANMURADOVA Heard of her?

I was just looking at some of her results but what stuck out was that she is down as being 1.90m, doesn't that make her taller than Lindsay and Bovina, either way this is a good departure from serena henin threads all the time. Any fans of her on here?

I think with her serve and her athleticism, her power, her court mobility, I just think when she’s on, she’s the greatest player we’ve ever seen, ever. Now, whether her record is the greatest remains to be seen because she hasn’t retired yet. But I think she is really the greatest player. I have seen Martina and Steffi at their best. There are little chinks in those players’ armor, but it was a different era, where you didn’t need to be the perfect player.

Yes, she definitely has fans here. She has a cheering thread in the Asian Assault forum.

I'm not a fan but I cheer for her all the time though.
I hope she'll reach top 100 soon. Very possible I think.

She's a big girl with a big serve, a manly game, and she undeniably looks alot like a man as well

Yup. Bovina and Lindsay are both 1.89m.

Re: AKGUL AMANMURADOVA Heard of her?

When someone (Hantuchova, maybe?) played her, she mentioned afterwards that Akgul looks a fair bit taller than her listed height, too.

Re: AKGUL AMANMURADOVA Heard of her?

I say a pic of her in Tashkent, where she lost to Kraijeck and she looked literally
6,5', seriously, here it is.

Re: AKGUL AMANMURADOVA Heard of her?

I feel bad for her. Her federation has no money, and she has to wear mens clothing because she is just to tall, so she cant wear the feminine stuff like the players we see on tv and stuff.

Re: AKGUL AMANMURADOVA Heard of her?

I had the pleasure of meeting her in Australia last year. As nice a girl as you could ever wish to meet and also highly intelligent. She is basically self-taught (and you can see this when she plays), gets next to no support from her federation (I'm sure they have no money either), struggles to meet ends meet (cannot afford to travel to too many tournaments). If anyone needs some support, it is she!
