A lot of pressure on Venus

IMO, Venus has all the pressure in the final. People (including their father) have been saying since the beginning that Serena will be better then Venus.

Serena has just surplanted Venus as the no.1 player. She has also beaten her the 2 times they played this year including the French Open final. If Serena beats Venus again, then I feel that it will be hard on Venus to accept it. Also if Serena wins, she would have won 3 different slams as opposed to 2. I just think that Venus has a lot of pressure because if she loses again, it will show the world that Venus is the past and that Serena is the new Queen.

I think you make excellent points. However, I think this final will be contested a little differently. There seems to be very little pressure on either of them when it comes to the match. In the past, there has always been the pressure of getting to #1, getting on opposites side of the draw, establishing dominance. None of that is just bothering them this time. This time, I have a feeling that blood may be shed in the final.

I don't mind straight people as long as they act gay in public!

Venus wants to three-peat badly.

Serena (being Queen of Clay) wants to be the Queen of Grass. She was wearing her tiara in anticipation today. LOL!

This could get U-G-L-Y!

I cheer for Williams x 2, Pierce, Patty, Nastya and Kim

I miss Sandrine, Monica, Iva & Joanette

I miss Pinky and the Brain. I want Anna K back so she and Hingis can get in more cat fights like the old days.

selesrules, you are soo right, thats why iam looking so forward to this final, venus will be going all guns blazing to win this final becuase she knows the reprocations, serena will be hailed a greather player, sister or not that has to hurt especially since serena is younger. and if serena wins this venus knows that year end no.1 ranking will be rapped up since she has so many points to defend.

Thumbs up

I agree with everyone. As someone who has been incredibly disappointed in their last two finals, I really believe this match could be one for the ages! No real pressure on either now that EVERYTHING is all in the family. I am so hoping that we get to see what Oracene and Richard have witnessed for years... an unbelievable match between these two. I expect nothing less!

There is pressure on Venus to 3-peat. But has pressure really gotten to Venus before? Not really. She is the queen of mental toughness.
