Are there wild cards at the Olympics?

Just wondering, in case Mary could not play in Fed Cup in the two years previous to Pekin.... could she receive a WC? Does it exist? If indeed it does, do you know how and to whom it may be given?

Cara Black - Liezel Huber - Mary Pierce

Chanelle Scheepers - Abigail Spears - Vladka Uhlirova - Mervana Jugic-Salkic - Francesca Schiavone -Tsvetana Pironkova - Lisa Raymond - Sophie Lefèvre...

Re: Are there wild cards at the Olympics?

Yes I think if Mary wants to play the itf will give her a wild card. They always give wild cards to some players who are unknown because it's the Olympics.and they give wild cards to playres like Mary who can't qualify but are really great champion. I remember in 2000 in Sydney the fft wanted Mary to participate and the itf would have given her a wild card if she has wanted one.
