I love Kim and I wish her the best BUT...

............I don't like the way she's treating this last year as a glorified farewell tour and not giving it the same commitment as other years. Read her latest diary entry - it is clear she can't wait for the year to be over so she can begin married life. Skipping the French & possibly the US Open, I mean what is the point? I was fine with her decision to retire because I thought at least we would get to enjoy full-blooded Kim for one more year but this is bollox.

Re: I love Kim and I wish her the best BUT...

Kim obviously lacks something that a lot of her fans wish she would have. The desire to be the best she can be. That's all there is to it. I can't see her entering any events this year with any real intentions.

The Williams Sisters

It's great to be a fan of the two most talented women in tennis.

Only IDIOTS count out the Williams sisters!!!
Serena: 13 Slams, ranked: #1
Venus: 7 Slams, ranked: #2

Yeah, I have to agree

Kim Well, I did think she tried at Antwerp. It spilled out at the end.

well, it isnt that i dont agree with you starting this thread. do i find it stupid that kim is even considering not playing USO? yes. but when we've already had a whole thread on this and all the criticism in that thread (not all are bad), it's quite annoying to face the potential of another similar situation here (it's not your fault, but this thread will just go the same way)

Re: I love Kim and I wish her the best BUT...

Kim's half assed commitment began from the moment she won the US Open. Her hunger hasnt been there ever since. I gave up on her last year.

My theory is that a while ago she decided to play in 2007 so she announced it but as the year began she changed her mind but she realised it would disappoint her fans who were anticipating her play in 2007 so she kept her promise but really doesn't want to play in 2007 and is just doing it for the fans.

Martina Hingis has won Roland Garros 2007!!!!!!!!!!

I think she's already crossed that imaginary bridge to retirement.
Remember her speach at the Aussie open.
She was already emotionally detached from professional sports and its daily trappings of ranking, travels, presure to win.
She was talking as a newly wed with a quiet home life, w/o all those things

Re: I love Kim and I wish her the best BUT...

Simple Solution: Get out there yourselves, accomplish what Kim has,
and then come back and talk!

Who cares!

Again, this is Kim's life and she has her own set
of priorities. Just because they aren't what you
think they should be, stop beating the dead horse!

Kim isn't trying or caring to dictate what it is
you do in your lives, so show her the same respect!

Her life, NOT YOURS!
