Behind the Swoosh

When you see Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova or any of the big names wearing Nike apparel, think about what you see in this video ...

http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...oid=1818023932

it is our responsibility to bring awareness of this issue because i believe that these athletes don't know what they are supporting

such a great sport should not be supported by inhumane actions

raise awareness!

Re: Behind the Swoosh

I agree that these sweat shop workers are severely underpaid, but I don't see any good in boycotting Nike, as they at least provide jobs for these people. But then again, it is immoral of Nike to spend billions on athletes instead of making living conditions better for these people.

Re: Behind the Swoosh

Thanks for posting this. It's absolutely appalling that companies are allowed to conduct business in this way. Of course, Nike isn't the only one but it's probably one of the biggest.

Immoral, definitely! It should also be illegal.

I'd like to see every individual in this thread turn down however many millions it is to promote anything nasty, cos you'd pick the £$£$£ over the morals anyday. ANYDAY.

I've been searching online for more info on Sweatshop-Free clothing and footwear and I'm bummed that there seems to be very few alternatives, especially sneakers.

I did find this
"SHOP WITH A CONSCIENCE: 2007 Shopping Guide."
