Chase Points: Out with the Old, in with the new?

Usually, there's not reason to look at the Chase race this early. It's very distorted. This year though, it actually mirrors ranking points rather closely. IN the top twenty places in Chase points, only three players are more than tenplaces from their actual ranking position; Serena, Lucie Safarova, and Kuzzy. Nadia Petrova's Chase position is purely the result of having run into the eventual OZ champ early.
Which leaves me wondering, do Vaidisova, Peer, Chakvetadze and Jankovic have good chances of making the Championships? They're all of to good starts, all ranked in the top 15 anyway, but none of those four has even made a GS final, and there are a LOT of players who made GS finals or won GS tournaments behind them in the Chase right now.

Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.
