Re: ESPN Australian Open Preview(video)

It was Chris Fowler,Maryjoe and Patrick McEnroe previewing the draw. Patrick McEnroe likes James Blake from the bottom group and Roddick and Federer of course. Mary Joe likes Sharapova and Kim Clijsters for the semifinals and Mauresmo Vaidisova and Jankovich fom the bottom. She said that she is at least glad Serena is playing although she doesn't think she is as fit as she should be. At the end Patrick said that Venus is not there because she had wrist surgery.

Big surprise there!
PMac can't go against his "boy".

BTW,
Chris fowler was the one that
said Venus had wrist surgery.

Yet, how does he know?

Orecene declined to answer that question.
And neither Serena or Venus said anything
to that claim.

IMO, I think he's assuming based on Orecene's refusal to
answer the question and that both she and Serena said
things were "fixed".

Either way, glad she's gotten it under control.

I know!
I swear he's picked him to win every major in the last two years except for the French, and guess who's won each of those majors? Federer!

I hope Venus is rehabbing well! I can't wait to see her back on the court!

Re: ESPN Australian Open Preview(video)

good for Vee...but I think she already had surgery. They put Serena in the QF over Janko Even ESPN knows better than to underestimate Serena

Career Grand Slam in your 20s? Been there done that. Career golden slam your 30s?
There's only 1.
Been around the world, copped all 4 thrice.

Re: ESPN Australian Open Preview(video)

I assume that Venus would have to inform the WTA if she had surgery.

I thought the same thing. They think either Petrova or Serena will be in the QF. Hmm...

Re: ESPN Australian Open Preview(video)

November 6, 2006 is when she was photographed with the brace from her elbow to her wrist. She even has hospital tags on her other wrist. So I am thinking she got the surgery after her Luxemburg loss/injury.

I am very proud that she still played the McDonalds exhos, it shows that the charity tour means a lot to her. Good for her, and I hope she is healthy and ready to go by Antwerp.

I can't wait to see Vee back on court.... Hope she is doing o.k.

"I dream of people watching me holding up my third Wimbledon trophy... Most of all I dream of being a good person to all that are inspired by me I dream of having girls, women, boys, men being fond of not only what I have done on the tennis court, or on the big screen or what I design but I dream of what people think of me as a person.
I dream that people think of me as a giving person as a person that
loves life and is fun to be around." - Serena

Re: ESPN Australian Open Preview(video)

WTF is up with Mary Jo's eyebrows!?!?

Patrick...please get off Andy's dick. It's embarassing.

I'm not sure why Mary Jo is not giving Hingis a solid chance to make her seeding. She won't lose to Li or Safina. The courts suit her game.
