Australian Open Series?

On the live scoring from Australia, I have noticed they all have "Australian Open Series".

Is this like the US Open series? Why have we not heard about this before? Is the US Open series not as well known in Australia? Is there bonus prize money if you win the Australian Open series and the Australian Open?

I don't think there is any prize or anything I think its just a name they give for the tournaments in the lead up to the Australian Open. It hasn't really been publisised or anything here.

There is no competition like in "US Open Series"... Why would there be one???
This is just "AO Open Series" cause these are the prep tournaments

no mention of jackpot bonuses for whoever wins the most
