The crisis of Groenefeld (article in German)

Grönefeld weiter ohne Sieg

http://www.eurosport.de/tennis/wta-s...o1048149.shtml

Re: The crisis of Groenefeld (article in German)

thx for the article

I give you a brief translation

Groenefeld defeated again

Anna-Lena G. was also defeated in round 1 at her 2nd tournement of the new year in sydney. the 21-year old german tennisplayer from Nordhorn lost her opening round 4-6 2-6 against Shahar Peer from Israel.

it was the 6th straight first round defeat in a row for groenefeld, who reached the QF of the French open last year. Since 3 month the #19 of the world is without a win at the WTA-tour.

"She's in a very difficult situation" says Fed-cup coach Barbara Rittner about germany's #1.
AFter Groenefeld left her controversial coach R. Font de Mora and came back to Germany things actually were looking up for her, but Groenefeld completly lost her form from last year and is obviously pretty overweight. "Moppel-Drama um unsere tennis-prinzessin" (~ roly-poly-drama around our tennis-princess ) wrote the "bild" (german yellow press).

At the beginning of octobre Groenefeld won her 1st round in stuttgart against Tatjana Malek, but lost her 2nd round against petrova as well as her following matches in Moskow, zurich Linz and Hasselt. Last week at the Gold coast she was deafeated immeadiatly in the 1st tound by Tatiana Garbin - not the best prospects for the Australien Open, that start next week.

"My last weeks weren't good at all, I'm unhappy with myself" said Groenefeld. The match against Peer last only 78 minutes. The german's serve didn't work well with a 45% first serves and 5 DF.
Despite Rittner is optimistic in terms of Groenefeld's future. "Anna-Lena will come back of this low, but it'll last some time."

Re: The crisis of Groenefeld (article in German)

i'm sure she knows it, but losing weight will help her

You have long been my goal, been my chasing, been my soul. I have hung out on the edge. But I just couldn't let go. There's a time to forgive. There's a time to forget. Close your eyes, get ready, set. Walk me down this fall I'm taking but don't let me go yet. Oh let me go, sweetheart, throw me, around you, like you know me. And remember me too. Remember me too from a dream i had of you. Mary Margaret O'Hara | Dream I Had | Apartment Hunting | 2002.

Re: The crisis of Groenefeld (article in German)

"Rittner stays optmistic" - okay, how typical. For Schruff & Muller she said her rubbish after all of their losses and for ALG she searchs a sorry all the time....

ALG could lose 40 times in a row in R1 and losing to a Amy Dillingham or Nancy Loeffler-Caro and she would say "I stay optimistic with her" - I like ALG, but not Rittner's states

losing weight is the key thing, but that it will take time for her to get back to where she was before. so you have to be patient

Re: The crisis of Groenefeld (article in German)

Peer is far from a bad loss and Garbin is not so bad either.

When ALG is losing to Bychkova and Domachowska, that will be a time to be really worried.

Did ALG have a weight gain? The last time i saw her i thought she looking a bit too thin...

i thought she was more attractive before she lost the weight. She's a naturally heavy-set girl, the skinny model look doesn't fit her. I think her ideal weight would be about 80 kg's.
