Jelena Janković wins the Serbian player of the year award
Sure, she didn't have all that much competition but at least she beat Ana to it, which I'm sure was very sweet. She also got a Plasma TV as a gift from Serbian Tennis Association.
Jelena has been practising in Colombia with her part-time coach Ricardo Sanchez. She was hampered with a wrist injury but now it's healed and it doesn't bother her anymore. She says she's been working really hard on her fitness which was her biggest problem. Her first goal for the next season is to enter top 10. She will also play in the Fed Cup, while Ana Ivanović, surprisingly enough , won't take part in it next year.
Jelena was also nominated for the Serbian female athlete of the year award, but it went to Olivera Jevtić who win silver medal in marathon at this year's European Athletics Championships.
