Who is the most gracious player in defeat?

I thought of making a poll for this but there are too many players to choose from. So in your reply just say who you think is the most gracious player in defeat.

I think Mary Pierce. She smiled and congratulated Na Li after Li beat her 4-6 6-0 6-0 at the US Open 3RD 2006

Who gets your vote?

There are so many. The Belgians are very good sports. Linds is a great sport. Seles. (I'm considering also the comments in the press conferences). Mary. Funny I thought there were very many but I can't think of anymore now.lol.

Mary is very gracious, but Monica was the best ever. Lindsay was also very gracious.

Yup I have got to agree, Monica Seles is at the top of the list when it comes to being gracious after a defeat closely follow by Lindsay Davenport. Two great ambassadors of their sport.

Let's be honest, the most interesting players are the ones that aren't gracious in defeat!

Re: Who is the most gracious player in defeat?

Monica Seles of course, even more amazing considering her success and trials... some players who have that much success put themselves on a pedestal and refuse to give credit to an opponent who was the better player of the day

Also Mary is very good natured towards opponents...

I agree It's much more fun to read what Martina or Serena or JHH had to say about their opponent if it's juicy

Mary Pierce and Venus Williams is always very gracious in defeat at the net anyway, she is always very polite and smiles at the net even after a loss.

Yes, I forgot about Venus Williams. She's always very gracious after a loss, even a disappointing loss.
