Which players will break through in 2007?

Which players on the WTA Tour do you think will break through in 2007?

Here are some of mine

Nadia Petrova, current ranking 6, will break through by winning a Grand Slam in and several Tier I & Tier II titles

Elena Dementieva, current ranking 8, will break through by winning a Grand Slam in and several Tier I & Tier II titles in 2007

Jelena Jankovic, current ranking 12, will break through by reaching another Grand Slam Semifinal, will reach a Tier I final and will win two Tier II tournaments in 2007

Ana Ivanovic, currrent ranking 14, will break through by reaching the Semifinals of a Grand Slam and hovering around the World No 6 mark by the end of the year, will also win several Tier I & Tier II titles in 2007

Daniela Hantuchova, current ranking 18, will break through by reaching two Quarterfinals of Grand Slams and will a Tier I and a Tier II title in 2007

Tatiana Golovin, current ranking 22, will break through and reach two Grand Slam Quarter Finals and win her first title (Tier II) and in total win two Tier II & a Tier III title as well as reaching the final of a Tier I in 2007

Shuai Peng, current ranking 55, will break through by reaching the Fourth Round of two separate Grand Slams and will win a Tier II and Tier III title in 2007

Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova, current ranking 413, is just 15 years of age, will break onto the senior circuit and win a Tier III & Tier IV Title as well as reaching the Third Round of the US Open in 2007

Who else do you think should be added to the list of players who will break through in 2007? How do you think they will break through?

Ok I like this thread, it's be done to death, but I still like it.

I think Vesnina will break through with a small tournanment win on clay. Hantuchova will win an event on grass and Petrova will win the FO.

Re: Which players will break through in 2007?

Very tough to determine who will break through in 2007.

I'd say that Jankovic will produce some solid results in the 1st half of the season with some Tier II semis & finals & do very well at the Aussie Open. 2nd half, I really do not no.

Petrova will probably do well on clay again & might even reach the RG final but that i'm not so sure. But she'll probably win a few Tier I & II titles & be consistent in the slams with 4R appearances or better.

The others are question marks but it's so difficult to be sure who will break through in 2007. anyone could turn the tables.
