Re: Which Grand Slam do you look forward to the most?
I'd have to give it to the Australian Open, chiefly because we are now in the dead zone for tennis between the end of November and when the first ball is struck at the Hopman Cup (if you exclude Davis and Fed Cup), and the Hopman Cup doesn't normally get televised here on the East Coast USA until a week later, so by the time the AO begins at the end of January, I'm always drooling and chomping at the bit. All that said, I still think it's a shame the 4 majors can't be spread out over the year in a more equitable fashion so as not to have these big gaps and players returing to Melbourne heat and injuries in the middle of the Australian Summer. The players need an off season, but wouldn't it make more sense really to have the Australian Open start in late February, and have the French in late April or early May, and Wimbledon maybe a little later in July?
There is nothing more beautiful than Evonne Goolagong in full flight moving across a tennis court.
