A Plead To Anna Kournikova

Anna Kournikova, you are an amazingly talented tennis player. This is why I plead you to please return to competitive tennis. I, as well as many people in the tennis world, miss you and are extremely sad and disappointed to see you give the sport up. It is a shame to see your talents go to waste.

We all realize that you have endured many injuries over the years and that you cite your back injury as the reason behind your semi-retirement. The reason behind your injuries, though, has been over-training. You have played tennis all your life and it is not necessary to train six to seven hours a day, like you did when you were young. This causes more injuries and your back to flare up.

Anna, if you were to train two to three hours a day and a couple of hours at the gym for four to six months, and get a coach, I am sure that in a year's time you would be in the top 25. With consistent play and results I am sure that you could get back in the top 10 and threaten top players day in and day out.

Anna, all your fans love and support you, and we just want you to do what makes you happy. We don't want you to have regrets later on. You are still so young and so talented. PLEASE COME BACK.

Re: A Plead To Anna Kournikova

Anna had to think about it with Hingis coming back this year.
I don't think she feels her back will handle all the heavy training involved

hingis always used to say the same thing. she used to say that she could not return to competitive tennis because her feet hurt whenever she played longer than a couple of hours a day, but she's back. anna please comeback as well

Re: A Plead To Anna Kournikova

people need to realize, once and for all, that she simply is not able to do it. As a competetive tennis player, Kournikova has ceased to exist. Her mind and her body are both gone. She wasted her chances and didn't respect her own talent. And now it's too late.

Not to mention that there are at least 25 women in the Top 100 these days who are better looking than she is. Do you think her ego could handle that?

her mind and body may not be what they were in the late 90's but she can get all of it back with some training. i don't see how she waster her talents when she was playing. i don't think it's late. she is younger than both the william sisters and martina hingis

Re: A Plead To Anna Kournikova

She's not going to come back for singles.
What if she hurt her back training?
She doesn't need that.

And she doesn't need to come back for doubles.
She's a former #1 and slam champion in doubles already.

she is younger than Venus but older than Serena. And neither the Williams nor Hingis physically deteriorated in the way that Kournikova has. But anyway, i am sure that Anya doesn't want to compete again, at least not in singles. She doesn't want to go out and be a trophy target for the other girls and risk humiliation. She prefers an easier life. Tennis is hard work.

If you like Anna, don't you want her to enjoy her life?
Being on the tour is a hard life.

Being on the tour is a hard life.
being on tour is also a privelage, and honor, a chance to be the best.

maria sharapova has made and will make millions more than kournikova, but she's out there grinding it out and fighting for every win. she could easily quit now and enjoy a luxurious lifestyle.

it's not anna's body that isn't strong enough to handle tennis. it's her mind, heart, and ego. she can't bounce back from the losses, the pressure, the failure. she isn't a fighter.

at the end of the day she's just the prettiest girl who never won anything that mattered. don't "doubles" me to death. no one cares. only people who never achieved anything in singles would even mention doubles results.

signed, a fan.

Re: A Plead To Anna Kournikova

It's not an honor to be on the tour. It's something you reach through sweat and toil.
And Anna doesn't have any reason to do it anymore.
