Martina Hingis/Roger Federer Mixed Doubles?

For the 2007 Australian Open wouldn't it be really good to see Hingis paired with Federer to play mixed doubles?

When was the last time Federer played doubles in a Grand Slam tournament? They should consider it.

What other pairings of top ATP and WTA players would you really like to see play at the upcoming Grand Slam event in Melbourne, Australia.

Re: Martina Hingis/Roger Federer Mixed Doubles?

Sugiyama/Mirnyi
They played once before, but lost 10-8 to Ivanovic/Zimonjic in the first round RG.
I'd love to see it again!

Hantuchova/Sugiyama def. (1) Black/Huber 6-7(0) 6-3 7-6(10) saving SEVEN match points, down 2-5 in the third, and down 2-6 in the third set tiebreak in three hours

Ai Sugiyama. Jie Zheng. Zi Yan. Tamira Paszek.
Yaroslava Shvedova. Nuria&MariaJose. Yung-Jan Chan. Elena Vesnina. Flavia Pennetta.

They played mixed once at the Hopmen Cup I believe. But I may be wrong. I'd love to see this happen. Two geniuses combining forces.

I think Federer's game would really work well being paired with Hingis or Henin Hardenne.

And I could see Nadal being paired with Sharapova; their basic gritty formular is very similar to one another.

Venus or Serena could pair up with James Blake.

I think it would be really great if Tati and Richard Gasquet teamed up again

Tatiana Golovin, Timea Bacsinzky, Petra Kvitova, Kristina Mladenovic, Laura Robson

I'm not sure Martina's ego could handle playing second fiddle to Roger

Well obviously. But Martina knew that Anna would fill more seats than her, per se.

Martina was the queen. Anna just thought she was the queen.

well, martina played with roger when roger was a nobody then. i am not sure he even won his first title yet.
i doubt they bother about their egos. Hingis once dominated, and now Federar is dominating.
But I am really sure they would not play mixed doubles for slams, at least for now. Federar is really focused in his singles. He does not even want to play Davis Cup first round because he doesnt wasnt to get distracted.

Hingis Fan since 1997

Re: Martina Hingis/Roger Federer Mixed Doubles?

Federer & Hingis would be a great mixed doubles pair. they would probably like go in2 every tournament being somewhat the favourites i reckon. but i doubt they would pair up 4 the aussie open mixed doubles though.

i would like 2 see sharapova & safin pair up together in mixed dubs as well even if most ppl would like 2 see sharapova pair up with roddick.
