2006 YEC matches worthy to be played in YEC?

What matches do you think were worthy of the YEC level? To qualify the match should be of quality and/or have some drama...

Kim-Amelie definitely was the best match of the tournament.

Any other in your opinion?

I agree, it was the best match IMO. Except for the first set.

hingis-petrova was a great match to watch, i agree kim-ameliematch was the best equal match we saw. Both were playing really well. Justine-maria was the best tactical match from 1 of the players. Justine played great tactically in that match(esp. first set)

Justine Henin

Elena, thank you for all the joy you gave me, you will always remain in my mind.

Kim and Ame was the best imo

Spanish great Manuel Santana said the titanic struggle between Clijsters and Mauresmo in the semi-finals " was the best women's match he had ever seen"

Yep, going with the Amelie - Kim match. One of the best matches of the year.

Hingis - Pietrowa was the favourite match of the tournament for me
I loved also the final & the Semifinal Justine vs Maria

Ana Ivanović.

I agree
Though Kim lost I think it was amazing! I had no trouble at all congratulating Amélie's fans after the match because she just played great ( I was more frustrated one day later seeing her play not quite at the same level ) ... oh well
And Kim! I was - and still am - so proud of her ..

Re: 2006 YEC matches worthy to be played in YEC?

Apart from a couple of turkey's on the opening day (Elena v Maria), pretty much all the matches did the YEC proud.

stand-outs:
Amelie v Kim in the semi's
Justine v Maria in the semi's
Justine v Amelie in the final
Amelie v Martina
Nadia v Martina
Maria's performance against Kim
Kim's destruction of Sveta

not too many good matches, I guess.

Funny, in the mens YE Masters they have played 6 matches so far and already 4 were great ones

The women's YE was unusual because 3 players had a chance for #1.
They all played some good tennis, but not every time they played.
Justine was the best on the weekend.

The most wasted of all days is one without laughter....
Even if you're on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there
Enjoy This Moment!!
HEALTH and HAPPINESS to EVERYONE
