Re: Best Moment Of 2006 Season?

Lots! Amelie winning Wimbledon by beating her arch-nemesis Justine

Maria winning the US Open by beating her arch-nemesis Justine

Justine finishing the year as no.1 & winning the YEC by gaining revenge on her two rivals maria & amelie & winning Roland Garros. She proved several nay-sayers wrong as well 2.

The return game of Justine in 2006 that has no equal, and by far in my opinion.

Ameilie getting her first two slams and probably following sam's progress to get into the top 30. I was hoping she would get there by the end of the year and she did.

Re: The 2006 Tennis Season - What Do You Remember Most?

I will start with the Semis of AO
Maria lost against Justine and Kim against Amelie (like at the wta champs)
I missed only Maria's game at Roland Garros against Safina and she lost the match from 5-1 in 3rd set. Justine won it without a problem.
at the Wilmbledon Amelie punished Maria's Net Game and even she won 5 games on the row in the second set she won the title after she lost the 1 set against Henin.
At the Us Open Maria was " The Princess in Black Dress" and win the tournament in her Favourite city.
The nr 1 race was decided in the Semis Between Maria and Justine where Maria had a bad day and she lost everything she fought in the last 3 weeks.
