i only say this because i was watching the 2005 wimbledon ladies final and when Davenport questioned the umpires sight (when the ball was clearly wide) and she said something along the lines of "i will replace you...got to do better than this"

What Lindsay said about that (shockingly bad) call was.

"You realise that you have got to do better than this? Oh my GOD!"

Re: Can players actually request a new umpire during a match?

i don't think so. please remember match between hewitt and henman in queens club event before wimbledon, after more than 5 bad-calls by umpire against tim,he did appeal orginisers to come on court and then complained them over those clearly bad-calls.so players can't replace umpires but can complain over bad balls!

Yes, players can request a new umpire.

But they're not going to get one.

Why is it no one ever sent me yet/One perfect limousine, do you suppose?
Ah no, it's always just my luck to get/One perfect rose.

Didn't they change the chair in a famous Nastase-McEnroe match?
I think I saw highlights on tv.
