Pacific Life Open or Sony Ericsson Open ?

I am planning a 1 week trip in Indian Wells (Pacific Life) or Key Biscayne (Sony Ericsson). Which tournament is best? Which city is best? Which destination should I choose?

Sony Ericsson Open is mandatory, the field should be better than Indian Wells.

The Miami tournament is amazing, I went there this year. Everything is so accessible and the courts and grounds are very nice. There are a lot of people, but it is not at all overwhelming. Best of all, almost all of the top players are here. It is not even a contest which you should choose in my opinion.

Tucker is so right. Miami is awesome for many reasons. I love going there. But more importantly, the players love going there. If someone skips Miami, they are legitimately hurt. And since there is both men's and women's you got an excellent shot at seeing all the top players on the women's side except for Sharapova on outside courts in early rounds. And the complex to me isn't as big as Flushing, so I saw ALL the top players practicing. Only downer was Nadal was eliminated by the time I got there and Agassi withdrew but I saw Federer, Hingis, Lena, Sharapova, Mauresmo and Kuznetsove etc. Plus there will be grounds passes easily available for the first 3 to 5 days. I plan to go Sat - Mon of the first week. I think the tournament starts on a Wednesday or something like that. No brainer for me.

Indian Wells has gotten screwed hard by the WTA. It's a shame, because you can't find a better area of the country, and the facility is amazing.

Miami is awesome.

I've gone there the past two years and it's so much fun.

It's set up really nice and you'll see more players than in Indian Wells.

Plus there's a junior tournament there during the second week.

If you want it city wise, like stuff to do besides just tournament, then Miami. Its beautiful, and the tournament always has a great field.

fuck.

Well the field should be almost as good at IW and I love that area of Cali, much more than hot sticky Florida but I know I am in the minority...

Are there specific players you want to see?? You might want to check their schedules', though anything can happen with injury...Martina, Lindsay, and Maria will almost definitely be there

if you're older and have money (spas and golf sort of lifestyle) go to IW. If you're younger go to Miami.

Re: Pacific Life Open or Sony Ericsson Open ?

miami seems about 10 times as much fun. i'd sound like a broken record if i repeated all the reasons. indian wells may be more relaxing and less frantic.
