Will Larry Scott follow suit and introduce Round Robin on the WTA?

Seriously, that's by far the dumbest thing that has ever been done in tennis, and god knows there have been a lot of dumb things already.

So, hopefully not.

What have I miss something? RR on a 'normal' tournament, let's say, Sydney?

Inspiration is for amateurs

Faves: Mona Barthel / Samantha Stosur / Roberta Vinci

Yes. But Sydney is not among the selected tournament. Adelaide is though.

God I hope not. But, knowing Larry Scott, he'll ramble on about how it's good for the game, when really, we're taking away from the tradition of the sport with every new rule change.

Re: Will Larry Scott follow suit and introduce Round Robin on the WTA?

there will be a lot of opposition from the top WTA players to round robin format, because they'll lose their treasured 1st-round byes. ATP doesn't give byes, so for the top male players it doesn't make much of a difference.

Another dumb gimmick being touted with dark undertones (an elite superleague aka football?).

Tennis is a contest decided in the present tense - at the end of the match there is a winner and a loser. Please Larry put round robin where it belongs - straight in the bin.)

Larry comes from the ATP and seems to think everything the ATP does is right.

And everything he has done is dumb.

so.

Round Robin? WTF - the YEC is the only tournament that needs the format.

well if larry scott does decide 2 place in round robin, at least he'll have alot of attention on himself good or bad (mostly bad) by tennis fans. what other stupid ideas does he have in the near future that will make women's tennis ugly? who no's. i begging that it doesn't happen.

The players would throw a FIT. Let's hope they have enough clout to get this thing trashed.

It would result in them playing more matches per week right? Well, that's exactly what you want to implement if you have an injury problem on tour: more matches.

Unlike the ATP, the problem of the WTA isn't keeping the elite divas deep in draw, but to actually get them physically there at the tournament!

I really, really hope not. But considering this is Larry Scott, it is not unlikely
