Class of 3000 is a new American animated television series to air on Cartoon Network that is created, executive produced and starred by André Benjamin (a/k/a André 3000) of the hip-hop group OutKast as superstar and music teacher Sunny Bridges, set at Atlanta, Georgia's Westley School of Performing Arts. Mr. Bridges is a hip-hop artist who occasionally lectures in Atlanta's Little Five Points neighborhood. The voice cast will include Tom Kenny (SpongeBob SquarePants), Janice Kawaye (My Life as a Teenage Robot), Phil LaMarr (Samurai Jack), Jeff Bennett (Johnny Bravo), Jennifer Hale (The Powerpuff Girls), and Crystal Scales (The Adventures of Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius). The series will have a "live premiere" on November 3, 2006 at 7:00 p.m. ET/PT with a one-hour special [1]. The show was co-created and developed by Tom Lynch and Patric M. Verrone. The official site is up, but only has the supposed theme song, pictures of the main characters and the show's premiere. Profiles on the characters are now available on the website, and a section on Cartoon Network.com has been created too.

Class of 3000 debuts Friday, Nov. 3 at 8 p.m. with a premiere event at Atlanta’s Fox Theatre. The 12 one-hour episodes are produced by Cartoon Network Studios in association with the Tom Lynch Co. and Benjamin’s Atlanta-based production company, Moxie.

The co-executive producer and head writer is Patric M. Verrone, a writer for Futurama, The Critic and Pinky and the Brain and a supervising producer on Futurama. Joe Horne (The Boondocks, Teamo Supremo, The Oblongs) serves as supervising producer.

Cartoon, a Turner Broadcasting System ad-supported cable service, reaches nearly 91 million U.S. homes and 160 countries worldwide.

I think Serena would make a great cartoon character.
