best ever?

Venus? Davenport? Justine? I would chose those backhand over Hingis, though Hingis backhand is one of the best!

Nope. It's her best shot though.

No --- it would be hard not to choose someone with a truly deadly backhand weapon like Seles, Davenport, Henin-Hardenne, or Venus Williams. I love Hingis, but her greatness is more about the sum of her abilities than any particular shot.

Hingis has some of the best feel ever on the backhand side - that much is true. Her length, timing, accuracy and connection from that side is tremendous.

But there are many players who do far more damage with their backhands. Venus, Serena, Davenport, Clijsters, Sharapova and arguably Henin are but a few who spring to mind. And that's only from today's players.

Ultimately every player requires their backhand shot to be a weapon in today's game. Judged as a weapon, Hingis' backhand is some way down the list.

Could be. She can hit it with as much power and accuracy as any.
You have to count consistency too, which drops many above listed players from the competition.
Then again the question is, if 2 handed backhand is better than one handed. One handed has more reach, but I really have not seen ultimately consistent one hander.

May be good but is far from best.

Of active players: Lindsay, Venus, Justine come to mind. Also Serena, Maria's is quite good.

Мари́я Ю́рьевна Шара́пова , Јелена Јанковић, Venus Williams.

Monica Seles was probably the best. Davenport and Henin are also excelent though.

Martina Navratilova & Monica Seles

Bartoli Vesnina

Schnyder Capriati Coetzer Frazier Hingis Rubin

Dementieva Maggie Schiavone Myskina Molik Davenport

No. But it is awesome, and definitley one of the best of this era. Well, not as much these days (in her comeback), but pre-'02 for sure. But even then, it wasn't in the same league as Chrissie's or Monica's.

I think if she hit it the way she did when she was younger...going for it each can arguably say yes

I am patient, but do not push, for it is silently one night I will wake, and you will find me gone come morning.
