Money, money, money... (and gues who leading YTD even in official Money Prizes?!!?)

Current (Year To Date) Money Prize List (WTA 2006 "millioners" only!):

1. MARIA $HARAPOVA (RUSA) $3,329,001
2. JUSTINE HENIN-HARDENNE (BEL) $3,204,810
3. AMELIE MAURESMO (FRA) $2,838,477
4. SVETLANA KUZNETSOVA (RUS) $1,848,304
5. NADIA PETROVA (RUS) $1,228,514
6. KIM CLIJSTERS (BEL) $1,122,992
7. ELENA DEMENTIEVA (RUS) $1,116,505
8. MARTINA HINGIS (SUI) $1,029,537

(all others - less than 1M$)

JHH and MoMo is currently better ranked players and have better succes this year at slams, but Ma$ha always find way to reach more money than any other player - even in official (tournaments only) money prizes !!!

Also, $he always reach about 1000% more money from her sponsors (other players about 100% ), so dont be surprised if she reach this year more than 30.000.000,oo U$D (New World Record for some female athlets!!!).

Congrats Ma$ha... you are already bigest moneymaker in tennis history (including ATP competition)! Deserve that or not, fact is that she with all that "publicity" back all that money to tennis (and her sponsors too) - so no reasons for protest or jelaousy (IMO).

and I'm not even fan of Ana Ivanovic... just an objective observer who realize how perfect she is

AMAZING BELGRADE MIRACLE: In just three years (2008-2011) 5 different players born in same city reach world #1 in rankings and several GS titles and finals (WTA singles: Ana Ivanovic and Jelena Jankovic, ATP singles: Novak Djokovic, ATP doubles: Nenad Zimonjic and Daniel Nestor... with notable performances of Bojana Jovanovski, Janko Tipsarevic and Viktor Troicki which is also all three born in Belgrade)

i'm not that surprised that maria's on top of the prize money list. well done 2 her, but that doesn't mean that she will end the year no.1 in the world (no offence). i mean justine's close 2.

Well, no one can seriously say THAT money isn't well earned, anyway.

Apparrantly it is because Masha won 3 tier 1 tournaments besides her slam and Amelie won 2 tier II tournaments and 2 slams.

It doesn't have ANYTHING to do with year end rankings.

Actualy she won the only slam with "bonus" (USO), and because she finish US Open series like #2, she have +50% bonus for her USO win, and this 500.000 U$D for victory more than JHH or MoMo reach for theys AO, RG or Wim wins is reason why Ma$ha is 2006 leader even in official Money Prizes (in overall competition she will be leader even if miss whole season ).

But that is Ma$ha - if RG next season will have some $$$ bonus, she will win at clay !!!

she also recieved an additional 600 000 for being runner up in the uso series. she is yet to pocket another million in a couple weeks time when she wins the YEC, she will have made more money than kim who broke that record last year or was it 2003 when she was also playng a lot of doubles.

Rena- a tennis great! 22 at striking distance.

I thought she won the USO series for a minute but remembered that it was Ivanovic, right? But anyway she still got a shit load of prize money and bonus money @ the USO.

Amelie's still had the best year.

Women's tennis sucks.

Go Rafa.
