Davenport and Myskina out of Top 15

On Monday both Lindsay Davenport and Anastasia Myskina will fall out of Top 15 in the rankings.
Along with Amelie Mauresmo they have enjoyed the longest "alive" uninterrupted streaks in Top 15.
In fact Lindsay has been ranked inside Top 15 since Australian Open 1994 (for 12 years 8 months and 3 weeks) while Myskina has been Top 15 player since US Open 2002 (for 4 years 1 month and 2 weeks).
Mauresmo has been remaining (I'm not sure my English is correct) in Top 15 since Paris 2001 (for 5 years 8 months 2 weeks).

The longest "alive" uninterrupted streaks in Top 10:

Mauresmo - since Wimbledon 2002 - 4 years 3 months 2 weeks
Dementieva - since US Open 2003 - 3 years 1 month 2 weeks
Sharapova - since Wimbledon 2004 - 2 years 3 months 2 weeks

The longest "alive" uninterrupted streaks in Top 20:

Davenport - since Oakland 1993 - 12 years 11 months 2 weeks
Mauresmo - since Australian Open 1999 - 7 years 8 months 3 weeks
Myskina - since Birmingham 2002 - 4 years 4 months 1 week
Dementieva - since Amelia Island 2003 - 3 years 6 months
Petrova - since Toronto 2003 - 3 years 2 months 1 week

Unfortunately that will come to an end too at the end of the year

Though this is what happens when you only play 8 tournaments

Yup and Yup. Lindsay will be ranked between 25-30 after her YEC points from last year fall off.
Easily the worst year of her professional career.

The major positive though is that if she plays in 2007 and is healthy, she can cause major damage and rise mightly back up in the rankings.

Have a feeling Lindsay isn't all too worried.

That's true, she has virtually nothing to defend in general, and nothing from mid-March through June.
I just hope she plays next year.
Just trying to hope for the best.

how can Davenport fall from 12 to 18 in the space of a week....plus her points have been deducted....How does that work?

By resufing to attempt to defend the only two titles left on your ranking.

At this point, Serena winning the 2005 Oz and Venus the 2005 Wimbledon titles shows us that your ranking means nothing. All you need is a solid two weeks. Ranking used to mean something when the William Sisters, Clijsters, and Henin-Hardenne dominated the top. A good ranking meant avoiding them earlier. Now, with the disarray and everyone on a equal ground, ranking means absolutely nothing. I mean seriously, no offense, but Schnyder ranked above Venus Williams? Davenport is not concerned. All she is worried about is putting together seven matches of unstoppable tennis.
One more Lindsay. You can win the 07 Oz. I can feel it. :]
