Most ENTERTAINING matchup in WTA

Which matchup produces the most ENTERTAINING tennis for you? Not necessarily the highest quality, but most competitive and dramatic. Matches where you look at the draw, and start re-arranging your week to make sure you can be in front of a TV just in case that match takes place. Matches that make your heart beat faster, and you find yourself talking to the screen.

I have my favorites.

Venus vs Martina
Serena vs Justine

There are a lot of other good ones.

Jenn vs Serena is always close

I keep waiting for the first really good match between Clijsters and Dokic. (I didn't get to see Leipzig 2000. Most of us didn't.)

Three of the past four matches Seles vs Capriati macthes have gone 3 sets

Proud to be an American
Not blind. Not uninformed. We are party to atrocities. But the response of the world after 9/11 is worth noting. Even our most dire enemies offered aid. We should all be so lucky.

For me it's Venus vs Martina. Even when Martina dominated earlier on and later now when Venus dominates, I still find their matches so dramatic, entertaining and of the highest quality no matter what the scoreline. Loved their 99 US Open SF and their 00 US Open SF..... was so impressed with Martina in 01 Australian Open SF and was impressed with Venus's determination in 00 Wimbledon QF. The second match I ever watched of theirs was the first time Venus beat Martina and I was so impressed with the standard even early on (that was at 98 Sydney 2R).

I voted for Martina vs Venus

3 matches stand out (US Open 99 and 00 SFs, Wimby 00 QF).

The quality was great and they displayed two of the best shotmakers, with the most contrasting styles to ever hit the game. Whenever the 3rd set came along, every tennis fan knew he/she was gona be in for a rollercoaster ride.

I also wanted to vote Jen vs Serena. Out of today's power hitters, I find these two ladies matches the most entertaining. They both can play any other power hitter, yet when these two play, the effort, determination and quality are great. Not to mention the uproar on this board whenever these two play each other .

Who can forget Wimby QF 01, Canadian Open 01 and both Rome and RG 02?

Volcana, I'm sure I've answered something like this previously, is this a resurrected thread?

I think one of the best womens matches i've seen was serena v martina at the AO, when Hingis won 8-6 in the third. So that matchup would be up there, and i also enjoy venus-martina matches.

these girls deserve all possible credits for their matches against each other it's always something... even when one one of them is not in good shape they manage somehow to make close match up hehehe

The loser is the one who failed to understand that it needs to stand up as many times as has fall not once less...
