PARIS (AP) -- French Open finalists Venus and Serena Williams officially claimed the top two spots in the rankings Monday, becoming the first 1-2 siblings.
Also, Albert Costa's first major title moved him to a career-best No. 8 on the men's list.
Each Williams sister jumped one slot, dropping Jennifer Capriati from first to third. It's Venus' third stint at No. 1, while French Open champion Serena reached a career-high No. 2.
The new rankings mean Venus and Serena should enter Wimbledon as the two top-seeded players, and couldn't face each other until the final.
Serena eliminated defending champion Capriati in the semifinals at Roland Garros, and then beat older sister Venus 7-5, 6-3 in Saturday's final to win her second Grand Slam singles title.
The Williams sisters share the 2002 tour lead with four tournament titles apiece.
