Was the match fixed??????

Everyone I talk to thinks that the match was predetermined. They said Venus won the USO so it was Serena's turn. At first I didn't think twice about it but they might be right. Venus pretty much laid down for Serena today. Someone who is number 1 in the world wouldn't lose so easily and be so happy with the outcome.

Im sorry But Serena has been playing really well. Infact most people I know who like to watch them said that Serena will win it. Both played great tennis, apart form the Un-Forced errors that inclined, but the Match was certianly not fixed.

R.DIS does it again. From Monica bashing to spreading rumours and tainting Serena's most deserved victory. Some people NEVER learn.

I was very happy for Serena, she really did deserve this title and is the #1 player since she won Miami in my mind. Venus played like she did the whole entire tournament, a little sluggish looking to me. but the Venus time is about to begin in a couple of weeks. She better watchout or Serena will take away her Wimbly crown

Serena Williams won
Scottsdale- beat Hingis and Capriati
Miami- beat Hingis,Venus,Capriati
Italian Open- beat Capriati and Henin
French Open- Pierce, Capriati, Venus

sorry Venus and Jen, but Serena really is the #1 this year.

Of course it wasn't
Have you saw the match? Both were really tense!
It's not easy to play against your sister, or brother or whatever...
And Venus is not what we can calla consistent player in not doing errors, she will always do errors, as Serena too.

But Serena could handle more, cause Serena was more tested in this clay season, she faced more tough opponents, and was the better player. If you note, Venus did pretty ridiculous mistakes against Clarisa Fernandez on semifinals too, so it wasn't a surprise for me.

And I think we already had this discussion here and no need for another one please...

that's a ridiculous claim that has been dealt w/ before. they never prove entertaining tennis:

1. They have the same coach
2. They have extremely similar game styles
3. They practice together
4. They have similar genetic make-ups b/c they're sisters
5. They are sisters (though this is the least importnat)

usually what happens is one of them takes control and doesn't give it up for the entire match. its happened like that every time.

and besides, venus wasn't ready for it - her matches were much easier than serena's w/ capriati. the match w/ fernandez really threw her off i think b/c she didn't get to play someone like jcap to get her focus in and to make her work. serena was prepared for it.

If you think you can upset me by mentioning Monica's defeats, you are extremely mistaken. Do you know why ? Because a troublemaker like yourself who spends his/her time spreading negativity in this board will NEVER get to me. You can attack my favourite, but your attacks have as much credibility as yourself, that is: NONE. And this thread further proves my point.

rdis - u need to stop instigating ridiculous things such as this. not only have you called the williams sisters cheaters, but you've just brought in seles into this whole mix which was stupid. vivala has much more dignity and respect than you obviously will ever have.

sorry if this is none of my business, that just really made me angry.

RDIS- I wish you could be like VivalaSeles and have the same affection as she promotes to her favourite player.

Oh yeah, of course the match was fixed!!

The night before, Venus and Serena sat down and scripted out the entire match point by point. They flipped coins to see who got each game, and then played "Rock, Paper, Scissors" for each individual point.

Then they had to commit the entire sequence to memory by typing it in to Serena's laptop and then downloading it into the memory chips that Richard put in their brains.

it was the best match so far for an all-williams final. Serena did it in style.
