Capriati- World's Best Number Three
What a great French Open for defending champion Jennifer Capriati. She played awesome and inspiring tennis. Each match was played hard and with determination. Jennifer beat a variety of players each with different styles. A quarter final match with Jelena Dokic that was tough with each player pounding shots into the court. Jennifer would meet Serena Williams in the semi-final that was impressive. Jennifer played like a champion and in true Grand Slam fashion. The match was hard, emotional and full of drama. The match was also very worthy of being a final. It was the best match between these two in their ten meetings. Jennifer played a match to the best of her ability. She fought and played to the end and in the end it was not meant to be. After three sets and games played with unique shots, angles, baseline romps and allot of heart it was over. Jennifer did lose the match on paper but in her heart Jennifer walked away from that match with more heart and determination. Jennifer gave praise to her opponent and let the best player bask in her glory. Leaving that Center Court walked a tennis great. A player that is at the top of women's tennis and who can hang in with the best players in the world. Jennifer Capriati drove her match with Serena into three tough sets and gave the fans in Roland Garros and at home a match of a lifetime. To the victor come the spoils, and to the loser come the grace. A true champion that will win again and hold that trophy high and claim her day again.
" Here I am once again, torn into peices can't deny it can't pretend thought you were the one, broken up deep inside but you don't get to see these tears I've cried behind theses hazel eyes."
