I was just thinking about the serves where the player jumps up/forward when hitting the serve. I believe most players do this, and they always step inside the line when landing.
Now, the problem is, how often to they step first, before the ball is sent away, meaning it should be a foot fault? I don't know, but I know handball players complain about this sort of stuff all the time.
Secondly, is it really an advantage to do so? I'd think you would get a better angle, but at the same time lose both coordination and power since you have nothing to support you like you have when you have your feet in the air?
Just some random thoughts, anyone has anything to add?
