Well, I have seen so many matches in my life that are extremely hard to classify, as 'best', for me, is not just the quality of the game, but also the emotions involved, the tension and how I feel about the players on court.

This year, I think the best match was Aravane Rezai [] against Agnes Szavay. She played such amazing tennis in the first 1½ sets Aravane really impressed me that day, and I was already a big fan

OMG I would love to see that Rezai-Szavay match. They are too of my favorite players.

Was this in the French Open qualifying round, where Aravane won 6-1 6-4?

Yes!

Two of my favourite players too Agnes actually became a favourite during Roland Garros, as she is so sweet. She played really well against Andrieux, but just had no answer against Aravane. Not until Aravane started to make a few more mistakes in the course of the second set. Before that, everything she hit was just dead on

When I was 18 I got to see the Martina/Hana U.S. Open final, the only time I have actually been to a Slam final.

It's been 21 years but I can still remember the atmosphere and how splendid those two players were that day.

I have seen tons of matches on tv. Last year's Wimbledon final for example is a classic to me as is the 92 French Open final.

But that 85 U.S. Open still is the best I think I have seen.

In terms of atmosphere, I must say the 1997 Fed Cup Final between The Netherlands and France was truly amazing

The play, not so much

I have to say last years Wimbledon final and the french open Jen beat Kim I think is was 10-8 in the thrid. Great comeback from Jen. The final set was amazing. I also have to say Mary/Lena last year at the US Open was a great match.

Flavia Pennetta

1/2 Venus vs Martina at USOPEN 2000; when venus'dad left the court because her daughter was about to lose. venus played incredibly and made a come back to finally win the match. she jumped evrywhere, lol 'it's unbelievable!'. It was a tense and good match, i think venus has jumped til her hotel room that day!

1/2 US open LenaD vs Capriati in 2004. Lena is the FIGHTER!!!!i love her!

This place is too small to put all the players i like here.

Hmmm, I have a pretty poor memory for tennis so the only ones I can remember are:
-Justine vs Capriati in the USO semi a couple of years ago
-Lena D vs Davenport in the USO QF last year (?)
-2005 Fed Cup final, Dementieva/Safina d. Mauresmo/Pierce (that was less than a year ago and I don't know if I have the right players!)
