the top eighth is jam-packed with Mauresmo, Serena, Ivanovic- very hard section to predict who will come out of it! Ivanovic always seems near Mauresmo

3rd round exciting matchups:

Serena Vs Ivanovic - Ivanovic has too much game for Serena right now- Ivanovic in two tight sets, maybe 3?

Vaidisova Vs Jankovic- tough one to call, but maybe Vaidisova in 3?

Zvonareva Vs Hingis- Zvonareva could trouble Hingis with her power hitting and good form of late, but I say Martina in 2 still.

Golovin Vs Petrova- if Petrova makes it, this shoiuld be a good match- Golovin has the ability to beat Petrova- I say Golovin in 3?

Chakvetadze Vs Myskina- both injury doubts at the moment, but Chakvetadze has had great form lat tournie, and so I say Chakvetadze in 3 sets.

Venus Vs Dementieva- the pick of the 3rd round in my opinion- depends which Venus turns up- obviously Venus has the game to beat Elena, but she has been in great form and Venus has't been playing- so I give it to Dementieva in 3 sets.

My predictions:

R3:

Mauresmo over Raymond
Ivanovic over Serena
Safina over Pennetta
Hingis over Zvonareva
Sharapova over Qualifier
Na over Pierce
Chakvetadze over Jackson
Golovin over Petrova

Kuznetsova over Zheng
Vaidisova over Jankovic
Groenefeld over Kirilenko
Dementieva over Venus
Bartoli over Schnyder
Davenport over Srebotnik
Peer over Sprem
Henin over Sugiyama

R4:

Ivanovic over Mauresmo
Hingis over Safina
Sharapova over Na
Golovin over Chakvetadze

Kuznetsova over Vaidisova
Dementieva over Groenefeld
Davenport over Bartoli
Henin over Peer

QF:

Ivanovic over Hingis
Sharapova over Golovin

Dementieva over Kuznetsova
Henin over Davenport

SF:

Ivanovic over Sharapova

Henin over Dementieva

F:

Henin over Ivanovic

Serena-Hantuchova promises to be an exciting one.
Serena-Ivanovic will be good too...and I'm sorry, I know winning Montreal was a big deal, but she does NOT have too much game for a 7 time major champ.

In normal circumatsnaces I would say no, but she was in hot form from Montreal, and Serena has had little match practice. But saying that, Serena can often storm through a draw with no match practice, so it will be interesting, but I would give Ana the edge right now.
