How is this considered an easy draw for Sharapova?

I'm not even a Sharapova fan, so I'm not just trying to defend her here, but why is it that everytime the draw comes out, everyone says she has it so easy?

Kraijeck= Ok, she will obviously beat her, but what do you expect from a first round match?

Likhovtseva= Decent opponent, and it's the #32 seed...

Pierce/Li= Two time Grandslam champion, Runner up here last year in the 3rd round? Yeah, real easy... Rising Chinese star who has posted good results this year? Whatever...

Myskina= Anyone who seriously thinks Petrova is going to make it to the quarters is foolish.. Myskina will be here vs. Sharapova. How is this easy? Former Grandslam champion who is finding their form back this year?

These people are decent opponents. I think everyone wants Sharpie to draw the toughest opponents in the first round all the way through, but it's not possible because of how the draw is done. Facing the #32 seed, #13 or #24 seed, and then the #11 or #5 seed is not easy. It's a random draw, based on numbers, and this is what came out.

Just because she might hand it to these opponents, it's not her fault. By saying that she has a cakewalk draw is saying that she is virtually unbeatable in other words.

Likhovtseva is horrible this year, Li is injured, Pierce has played only one tournament since February (and easily lost to Sharapova there) and Myskina has been in pretty poor form lately and is also injured.

you are a stoner if you think that's not an easy draw. No offense to their fans, but Pierce and Likhovtseva are crap now, and Myskina is likely to be upset before the QF.

Both Myskina and Petrova will not reach the qf.

if u compare sharapova's draw to the #1's seed's draw. u'll see that sharapova's draw is relatively easy.

Still, people need to give sharapova more credit than they are doing lol. Sharapova does earn her spots into the SFs all the time.

It looks like a nice draw to me-but hey-she's earned it because of her ranking. The bottom line is the champ has to win all 7.

Injured/Not Match Tough:

Petrova
Don't really know much about Krajicek. But if I were Sharapova, I would love this draw. Her fans have nothing to complain about.

i understand what you're saying but there is no denying that is an easy draw. the weirdest thing is, apart from pierce, i think krajicek is the most dangerous (as poor li is injured) out of those and you have just dismissed her!!!!

anyway, none of this is sharapovas fault its just a strange coincidence so good luck to the girl

But she has an easier draw than all the players seeded ahead of her, so in fact she didn't earn this draw due to her ranking. Its not her fault but she has been in the easy quarter for 8 straight slams, so its not fair.

Martina Hingis has won Roland Garros 2007!!!!!!!!!!

the top quarter is ridiculous
everyone in it is in good form and it really in unfair

sharapova wont play a seeded person until the semis i bet(maybe quarters)

*Hantuchova*Cibulkova*Radwanska*Pennetta*Giorgi*

*Stephens*Hampton*Riske*Dulgheru*

*Anyone playing Wickmayer*

You are right it's not her fault but we all know the draw was fixed for her to make it to the semi-final and this is not the first time it has happened in the last 3 GS. There's no way in hell that this draw is random.
