It's incredibly hard to decide between the AO semis vs. Clijsters in 2003 and vs. Sharapova in 2005. Of course the comeback against Clijsters made the Serena Slam possible, admist all the hype and pressure of winning four (!!!) consecutive slams. But one could only imagine what everyone would have said about Serena (and Sharapova) had she lost that semifinal in 2005. For me, the latter comeback was more important in terms of Serena's current/generational standing, whereas the former was more important in terms of making history.

the Sharapova one was a fave for the DRAMA!

but the Clijsters comeback was STUNNING...down 1-5...WHOA

Career Grand Slam in your 20s? Been there done that. Career golden slam your 30s?
There's only 1.
Been around the world, copped all 4 thrice.

Anytime you are 1-5 down in the third and are able to comeback and win it's an amazing effort, but to do it with the added pressure of trying to win four consecutive slams, that's instant legend.

against clijsters is her most impressive. it kept her serena slam going, and she was down 1-5 with the whole crowd behind clijsters.

my fav was 04 wimbledon against amelie bc at the time i really wanted an all american final (serena v lindsay), and i was pleasantly surprised to see sharapova in the final.

My vote was for the Wimbledon 04 SF. I dont remember being so pumped throughout an entire Serena match. Her leap at the end of the match said it all. Although it was outdone by her leap after the AO SF lol.

You don't close your eyes, even for a milli-second,
when Serena is backed into a corner and looking to bust out.

The '05 AO SF slightly edges the '03 AO SF because of the drama, not to mention after listening to Mary Carillo spew her venom for 2 hrs...Serena basically shut her up.

Really, don't even look at me...
