Lindsay's performance this US Open Series

Anyone want to weigh in as to her performance this hard court season?

It's traditionally been her best season but with the injuries and lack of match play it makes her questionable.

I would love to see her win at least a Tier 2 plus the US Open but I only see her making semis at the US Open, if she's playing well anyone other opinions?

Мари́я Ю́рьевна Шара́пова , Јелена Јанковић, Venus Williams.

Im going to wait and see how she gets on in her first few matches - if the injuries dont bother her I think she ll be a major factor at the USOpen seen as shes so much experience behind her - hope she plays in Oz next year

Lindsay is a great player. Love her attitude on the court as well as off the court.
Shame thats she has got so many injuries through out her caree.
Can't see her winning any grand slam in the future, reason? She is just too slow on the court, that is her problem from the start of her caree and she couldn't cope with that... All credit to her whats she has done so far. She quite surprised me because I didn't expect that she can win so many tournements.

I expect Lindsay to shake off the rust pretty easily in her first few matches. If she can remain healthy and play a couple of USO Series events, then I expect her to have a good run at the US Open.

I am going to wait and see if she even plays first, and I say this as a fan.

Usually Lindsay doesn't have too much trouble shaking off the rust, she played well when she came out of 8/9 months off from knee surgery and the same for her foot injury too. If her back is no longer a problem, and she gets her rhythm back quickly she is a factor in any tournament she enters here on out.

But until we see her on court and how her game is once/if she returns, we can't start predicting her shots at tournaments again. Hopefully we can start to have an idea about her game in about a week's time.

Ditto. I stopped expecting her to be back a while ago.

Her problem isn't movement. Her problem is in her head.

If she wasn't such a loser and believed in herself she would have like 6/7/8 slams now. The tour blows. She should have been eating them up since VEE n REE stopped caring.

But anyway, she's probably going to pull out of LA, and every other tournament. If she doesn't I'll be surprised.

Women's tennis sucks.

Go Rafa.

I don't see her winning any tournaments. With her ranking now, she'll have to play one of the big guns before quarterfinals. I don't see her beating anyone from the top 4. She'll probably reach either quarters or fourth round. I'm talking about the U.S. Open of course.

no i am not talking about a racket or a squirrel, i am talking about the former and future number 1..............
martina hingis!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good Luck Justine Henin Hardenne, Venus Williams, Maria Sharapova, Mary Pierce, and any of my other favorites that I might have forgotten about at this moment.

She's very good at bouncing back, remember 2002? Out the whole year and comes back and only loses to Vee/Kim (and Chanda in the LA final ) So I expect by the US Open, she should be in good nick, having played both LA and New Haven, a title I think is too soon, but I expect she might win 1/2 if she plays the autumn indoor season...

Ivanovic * Kvitova * Serena

100% correct. She should have won two slams in '04 and two slams in '05 alone. But such is life.

If she's really fine and actually plays.. I think LA + New Haven should be good to work her way back into form... the draws aren't too demanding and hopefully her court sense will return. Now's as good a time as ever to claim another slam, but we all know how that works out for her. I just hope after this dismal, injury plagued season that she gives it one more go next year.

She won New Haven right off the bat last year, so I don't think defending there is out of the question. I doubt she'll play much at all this autumn, but she really should - she has heaps of points to defend.

I hope she draws Mauresmo.

With her current rank, she'd be due to face seeds 5-8 in the 4th Round. Petrova, Dementieva, Kuznetsova, Schnyder. She owns them all, but Elena did beat her last year.
