Nothing special about Smashnova - queen of Tier III and IV

I don't understand such a fascination of Anna. She's been doing well in all finals-it's true, but if she had to face any top10 rival, she would lose.
Or if in that finals stood Martina,Lindsay,WS or any top10 they'd won them too.
Logical...

Altough she's 12/12 in finals, her winning percentage on Tour is about 56%.Such a low score!! She's won 100 matches more than lost.Is that sth to admire?!

She's dominant at tiers III and IV.

Martina Hingis & Sania Mirza

"Santina"

2015 Doubles titles: 10 - Brisbane, Indian Wells, Miami, Charleston, Wimbledon, US Open, Guangzhou, Wuhan, Beijing, Singapore
2016 Doubles titles: Brisbane, Sydney, AO, St. Petersburg, Rome

It's something to admire. She's like the Queen of the B-list. Which ironically is the same aspiration that Serena has for her acting career!

That's true. Smashnova only wins tier III and IV. Her only strengh is that she is so consistent. She hits the ball so high above the net, it makes me angry when I have to watch it all the time.

YOu have to admire the career she has carved out for herself with her style of play still able to win titles at 30 and beat the young players who are hard ball bashers

It's also something to admire that you can keep her strong head in final situations, no matter who your opponent is

Without professionals like Anna Smashnona, Amy Frazier, Paola Saurez, Lisa Raymond and others there would be no tour.

So Anna hasn't won a GS title it doesn't demean the accomplishments that she have. How many players have won 12 titles out of 12 finals, none. It is a great achievement. And Anna has beaten some of the best players in the world (at one point she reached top 15). She has beaten Kim, Justine, ElenaD, Amilie, Vera, Sveta, Daniela,Alica, Patty among others so she is hardly the worst player to ever pick up a racquet.

We need variety in the game of tennis and that is what Anna and others bring. I think Anna should be awarded for being so tough on court, like she knows she can't blast opponents off the court, so she runs her heart out and will never give up. She has had a brilliant career.

And It Hurts With Every Heartbeat

Her consistency is very admiral. Although she's never been top 10, she's been a decent force in tennis for 10 or so years. Plus other reasons people have said about the 12 titles in 12 finals thing and stuff.

A lot of players ranked above her (and way younger than her) haven't even won that many tier III of IV titles.
She's a really consistent player, nice personality on tour.

She makes the very best of what she has. 99.99% of players would give their right arm just to win one Tier 4.

Yeah, I agree.
You cannot dismiss players that aren't in the Top 10.
Everyone out there is busting their ass just to try and win a match, much less as many tournaments as Smashnova has won.
Congrats to Anna on another title

You must add she's dominant at tiers III and IV's played on Clay.
She's doing that because she's making almost no Errors, but also she has absolutely NO weapon... and because most of the lower ranked players she faces in those tourneys lack consistency she's doing so well there. And the Top-players also have no Problems with her because they mostly have this consistensy or the weapons to attack almost every of her shots.

i think shes very clever keeping to the low tiers where she knows she can win - shes very consistent there. if she played tier 1s and 2s consistently she would lose early but playing the lower tiers enables her to win tournaments, money and better ranking points

I think the tour is so competitive that it's probably even challenging to win tier fours, so good for her

Not every player on tour wins tournaments, you know

In the period from January to April 2006 Dr. Skalny sent very detailed messages to Ms Sharapova [...]: “Mildronate 1-2 X 10, repeat in 2 wks (before training or competition)”; “1 hr before competition, 2 pills of Mildronate”; “During games of special importance, you can increase your Mildronate dose to 3-4 pills (1 hr before the match). However, it is necessary to consult me on all these matters (please call)”; “30 minutes prior to a training session: Mildronat – 1 Capsule. 30-45 minutes prior to a tournament Mildronat 2 capsules”.

I think everyone in your signature except for Lindsay would love to have the titles that Anna does on their resume. Not to mention the fact she has the same amount of career titles as they do combined (Lindsay excluded, of course.)
